Grettings fellow plebs & peasants,

What follows is a collection of songs, live performances, and interviews of a band that was very integral to my youth. The music will not be for everyone. It is very heavy with screaming lyrics, although at times melodic with exceptional singing, and everywhere in between (think thrash metal meets Alice in Chains for lack of a better comparison). Every year on July 13th (7/13 being a song title), I make a point to listen to my favorites of theirs. So, if heavy music is your thing, please join me in celebrating the ‘holiday’. And even if not your cup of tea musically, give an interview or of the ‘Dead in NY’ documentary (towards end of post) and perhaps give the song ‘Viola’ a listen. Much more on the melodic end of their style. So, I hope ya’ll enjoy this greatest band most of ya’ll never heard of. Links to lyrics are provider when available.

Vision of Disorder is an American hardcore/metalcore band from Long Island, New York, that initially released three albums before disbanding in 2002. The band garnered attention for blending melody and groove into a traditional hardcore framework,^[5] but its attempts to pursue an alternative metal direction on its third album were met with limited commercial success.^[6] The band reunited in 2008 and have since released two further albums, The Cursed Remain Cursed in 2012 and Razed to the Ground in 2015.

Tim Williams fronted one of the greatest hardcore punk bands of the 1990s. He brought an energy to the stage with a mix of ferocity and melody in his vocals. We talk on his introduction to music, his upbringing, the early days of Vision of Disorder. The thrill of the victories, the agonies of the defeat and dissolution of the band and the next project Bloodsimple. Tim gives us a deeper look into his own life and his sobriety and his new project Rollin’ Coffin.
