While I think it is of the utmost importance to pay attention to these plans and the technology being used to attempt all of this, it is equally important to understand most of it is pipe dreams, fueled by grandiose promises (think Musk promising every year that next year Tesla will have true driver-less cars, yet it never happens) and a narrative designed to get people to accept it as all but inevitable creating a sense of defeatism. But as we have seen in recent years, they are not as competent as they would like us believe.
