Thanks very much for adding that necessary context on this incident. I wasn't looking at this too closely and was just assuming the state was overstepping its bounds. Glad to hear that isn't (necessarily) the case.

I mean, to hell with the state, ya know? But as you said, if the regulatory body is going to exist, this is its purpose.

I'll be interested to hear if they actually find contaminated product or legitimately unsafe practices in/after the raid.

Thank you I appreciate that. To be honest, if it was the USDA or FDA I may have just assumed the same since the feds do have a track record of things like this. But as soon as I saw it was state lead, I just knew there had to be more to the story. As for the contaminants, yea I'm curious myself if/what they find. Although I'm sure it will be all but forgotten by next week outside those local news sites I included.
