I never understood where people were coming from when they claimed that particular port was fundemental to all distribution in the U.S. and it’s the end of the world. Maybe that was true in 1824, but certainly not in 2024. Shipments diverting to other ports would cause a minor slowdown for a day or two, it wouldn’t result in Mass Starvation lol

Because nobody cares to do any due diligence anymore. It was only almost immediate that all the claims of whatever were coming out. Its not hard to find out it was mainly cars that are processed in that 9th busiest port and that the bridge was mainly for hazmat as there are tunnels and other bridges in the area. Fortunately I'm familiar with the area and have driven over this bridge more than once so I had a little edge to sort thru the bullshit. And some people are just addicted to the doom. They love it, and when whatever doesnt pan out, they tend double down just to absolve themselves from admitting they were lied to. For example, with the recent eclipse that didnt end the world or whatever these freaks thought would happen, I saw someone claim the moon wasnt the moon cuz it was going the wrong way. Like WTF are you smokin dude?
